My Grandmothers and my mother used to sew when I was growing up. I have memories of wearing handmade smocks, dresses, jackets, just about anything. In my mother's cedar chest there were several old McCall patterns from the 1960's. I used them to create this collage in tribute to my Grandmother's and my Mom.
This was one of my first attempts at creating a collage. I used buttons and thread along with the patterns and the packet the patterns came in. I layered each element, so there's about five or six layers to each board.
I haven't come up with a good title for these pieces, any suggestions?
